BUNNY CHOW SELECTED FOR TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Toronto  The Toronto International Film Festival announced today that John Barker s film Bunny Chow has been officially selected to participated in this years festival, running from September 7th  16th.

Bunny Chow will have its World Première in the new VANGUARD Program  VANGUARD showcases films that are stylistically bold, structurally playful and appeal to adventurous, risk-taking audiences. Barker, the South African filmmaker, will be one of several innovative new directors that will grace this section.

Other South African films that have been previously selected for Toronto include Tsotsi, Hotel Rwanda, Conversations on a Sunday Afternoon, Yesterday, Max and Mona and Forgiveness.

Both Tsotsi and Hotel Rwanda won the prestigious Toronto Audience Awards in 2004 and 2005 respectively, and went on to Oscar acclaim.

Its not a joke, say Barker and Lediga. We are thrilled. We are up against great films, and have a lot to live up to, but its a real honor.

Press Screening - Sept. 10 at Cumberland 4 at 12.30 p.m.
World Premier - Sept. 11 at Paramount 4 at 6.00 p.m.
2nd Public screening - Sept. 13 Paramount 3 at 12.15 p.m.
Special Event - Bunny Chow Comedians Live at Yuk Yuks - 224 Richmond Street West 8.00 p.m. onwards.
3rd Public screening - Sept.16 Varsity 4 at 8.15 p.m.
