> Al Gourley adresses CIM Luncheon
On May 20th 2004, Al Gourley of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP (Grand Sponsors of the Chamber) gave a presentation to the Canadian Institute of Mining on recent changes that are taking place in the South African mining industry. Al noted that Canada is not only proving itself capable of competing for the mineral rights within South Africa in the new legislative environment, but also of working with BEE companies to facilitate black economic empowerment. Fasken Martineau opened an office in Johanneburg in 2003. For a copy of the presentation, visit www.fasken.com and click on publications or email mfoster@tor.fasken.com.
